The Seattle Symphony's mission is to unleash the power of music, brings people together and lifts the human spirit. The Symphony's extensive education and community-engagement programs reach over 65,000 children and adults each year. The Symphony's schools programs are aligned with Washington State EALRs and Common Core grade level standards, and provide a strong foundation in music and 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, risk-taking and creativity. Schools programs include:
  • Link Up, a music curriculum and concert program for grades 3-5
  • Open Rehearsals for secondary students at Benaroya Hall, and full-length Friday Matinee concerts

Link Up: Seattle Symphony invites students in grades 3-5 to join the orchestra in a highly interactive and engaging program developed by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI). Students learn to sing and play an instrument and perform the Link Up repertoire along with the Seattle Symphony from their seats.
